# Let every brainstorm with your AI end in a briefing

How many chats have you had that ended with 'very good idea'? And where nothing ever really came of it afterwards? You had an inspiration, your AI was enthusiastic, you came up with all sorts of things together. And then you closed the window and life went on. The idea is still somewhere in your history, among a hundred other chats.

Usually, that is because of the end of the conversation. Nothing came out of it that you could give to anyone, not even to an agent. In a training session about agents, I explained how I tackle this myself. I often brainstorm out loud with my AI, in the car, and I only stop when documents are ready.

At the bottom of this article you will find two prompts, one to start the brainstorm and one to wrap it up. Feel free to copy them.

## Brainstorming while you do something else

I used to spend half a day on a single instruction for an agent, including all the context. I do not really do that anymore today. I have a conversation. And I do that very often with ChatGPT in the car. While I drive, I just talk to my AI. It asks me questions, I give answers, and so it goes back and forth. Half an hour in a traffic jam on the E17 is the ideal moment for me to let my thoughts flow. That way, the traffic jam still has a purpose.

It also works when you go for a walk, or when you are doing something else. It is about those moments when you think: I have an idea. My first sentence is then very simply 'help me brainstorm about this'. And I also ask it to ask me questions. What does it need to know, so that it or another agent can carry out the task later? The goal and the context in particular come to the table then.

## Frequently asked questions

**Why does a brainstorm with AI often yield nothing?**

- Because the conversation ends without anything you can pass on. The idea stays in the chat. Always ask for documents at the end, such as a summary and a briefing.

**Can I brainstorm in one tool and build in another?**

- You certainly can, because a briefing works in any tool. You save the documents in a folder. And you point the agent doing the work to that folder.

**Why brainstorm out loud in the car or on a walk?**

- At those moments you have time and space in your head. Your AI asks the questions, you answer. That way, the goal and the context naturally come to the table.

**Where do I practise this?**

- In the AI agents and Claude AI Power User training courses you learn to brief your AI and put agents to work. You can find the dates at [Workshops & Events](https://coachsteff.live/agenda).
